Isle of Wight Artists Celebrate at Ventnor Botanic Garden October 12th -26th

Five well-known Isle of Wight artists have got together to stage an exhibition of their latest works and celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Artist-in-Residence programme at Ventnor Botanic Garden (VBG) in October.

David Firmstone MBE, CarolAnn Eades, Charles Inge, Justine Randall and Guy Eades will be displaying new artworks and inviting the public to Ventnor Botanic Garden in October to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the artist residency programme.

The artist in residence programme is run in the VBG Temperate House Studio. VBG aims to educate around the issues arising from climate change, global warming of the planet and has developed the sustainable ‘Ventnor Method’ of garden design. As a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve the Island as a whole is working to promote a sustainable future between its communities and nature. At VBG the artist in residence programme builds on these objectives and in sharing and demonstrating these values with the visiting public.

The five artists will be showing original new work which shows how in visual images and pictures these ideas can be as powerfully and effectively communicated. Set in the beauty of VBG and amongst the rare and endangered plants the botanical team have nurtured and grown.

The Artists warmly invite you to come to VBG to celebrate with them the Island’s unique and own very special Botanic Garden and to show and share with you their new work. Entrance to the Echium Room Exhibition is free, as is visiting CarolAnn Eades (VBG Resident Artist for October) in the Temperate House Studio. The exhibition will be open in the Echium Room and Studio at VBG between the 12th and 26th October. From 10:00am daily until 4:00pm.

The artist will be there in person on October 12th form 10:00am, please feel free to come and speak directly with them.

Normal entrance charges apply to visit the Garden itself. Parking is free with purchases over £10 in the café or shop or with Garden admission.
